I was encountering a merchant at night with poor visibility, so i decided to go to scope depth. The merchant was close about 2000 meters however when i submerged, i couldnt hear a damn thing on my hydrophone. And that was about 1600 m when i reached scope depth. At that distance it should have sounded nearly from every corner. The next surprise was that my hydrophone guy did hear it fortunately ;). Anybody else noticed this? Is the hydrophone sound this unbalanced?

in Mo hydrophone is working after -15 metters... so if you were at scope depth than is ok to not hear... i do not understand how your sonar guy heard the ship:hmmm: - you are sure that he reported you the ship when you were at scope depth?

Hm ..Im not sure anymore :/. I usualy go 20 meters to hear underwater traffic. But i dont remember that certain moment if i didnt decided to go deeper from scope depth.

somethimes in game is like you spoked but a little bit diferent: your sonar guy can not hear the ship on hydro and if you use the hydro you can hear very well the ship... this hapened to me manny times... but like you said .. i never had that behavior of hydro
