Anyone using the new version of FF yet?

Just had a popup for the update, not sure about overwriting V3.### - I know you can do multiple profiles and changing shortcut targets etc, but that's a lot of grief.

I like the current version, so it may take some time for me to use the new one, or get used to it.

What do you lot say? Good / bad, worth it or not?

Been using it since Beta 5. It required some customization for my tastes (I don't like tabs on top), but I find it to be eminently usable and much faster than FF3.6 (especially if you have a decent GPU that can make use of the GPU rendering). I'd say make the switch.

Nope, still using 3.6, gonna hold out until 4 supports Multirow bookmarks addon.

FFS.... they switched the positions on right click for "open in a new tab" and "open in a new window" I have FF4 windows everywhere now.... sigh...

EDIT: FML, 6 hours later, and I stil have multiple windows everywhere. I always wondered why they arranged it the way they did, but once to get people used to something, don't change it! I'M A PAVLOVIAN POODLE! LEAVE ME ALONE

I completely agree with you. So I used the Menu Manager (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/menu-editor/)to switch the positions of the open new tab/window "buttons". Hope it helped.

That's not all that bad...back in the early stages of the beta, each tab counted as a window on the Windows 7 task bar. That was annoying.

Its not too bad, they arranged a few buttons but its seems mostly the same.

Ok. First impressions wasn't happy with some of the buttons going to different places, then realised stop/refresh was in a better location.
Overall I like having a cleaner space with the orange FF menu popout, one row of buttons/address bar with tabs underneath then web page down to windows taskbar.
Like the Tab colours. It's now easier to see which tab is current, before, not so much. Not used the tab groups thing yet, but I'm sure it will come in handy sooner or later (been using speed dial plugin in a similar manner before).

So far so good - though I did have a fatal error in windows active desktop (associated with having a webpage as your desktop according to the resultant reboot error - though I have never used it). This happened the same day I installed FF4, but it could be a coincidence.
Not noticeably faster imo, most probably for a number of reason not related to browser performance.

Apart from messing about with a separate profile and install location + shortcut target to try and keep v3.6, it all seemed simple enough when I decided to update properly.

I'm happy with it.

Except that when I post something here, it goes all stuttery in the 'reply to thread' screen. Dont know what's causing it, all other forums etc. work just fine. :hmmm:

I moved up to FF4 when I changed to my new computer (which runs Vista) a couple days ago, so I can't tell what's different due to FF4 or Vista :haha: So far it's okay though.

It's probably just doing an online check to see wether the content about to be posted is of quality. :O::D

I was just about to make a new thread about it.

I really enjoy it. It's really fast on my end.

Well is there a button to let FF know it's me posting?? So it would bow down and apologize for thinking I don't post 100% quality crap. :hmmm:

Surprised it just doesn't burst into flames then!

Ahh yes.. addon sorry. I've had it because of the wonderful features you've mentioned.

lol sometimes you have to do a double-take. One of the reasons for me not upgrading as soon as ff4 was available is because of things I've customised and got used to... never remember if it was stock or an addon anymore.
Maybe I'm just getting old hehe; when's the firefox 'pipe & slippers' update out? It's default theme will be corduroy.
