Dear US Citizens,

We, Anonymous, would like to offer you, America, the opportunity to join and support our movement.We are a group that formed on the internet--one that knows no constructs or absolutes, and one that has recently grown exponentially. We would like to introduce an Operation. An Operation that involves Americans getting our Natural Rights and dreams back. Right now, you can help by passing on the Information. Information is Power. Share the Power of the Information with other like-minded individuals. The more people we represent, the more Power we have, both as individuals and as Anonymous. Thank you for your time and your Power.

CITIZENS OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
Many events have taken shape over the course of only a few years, and slowly our system has been working towards the gains of itself rather than the gains of its people. While we all have watched and rallied against the system working against us, there have been other gains of the system that have gone without a peep as backroom deals and bargaining allow for the passing of legislation and research funding that has resulted in the loss of more liberties such as censorship, phone and Internet surveillance and eminent domain laws, Not to mention the higher taxes, lower wages, and loss of work due to exports deals. We repeat the history of our mistakes instead of evolving our society. Generations in the past spoke of what we face as current issues, the only difference being that of our technological advancements. We have forgotten such words our society has found guidance and value in:

That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to affect their Safety and Happiness.

If the government doesn't negotiate with conventional terrorists, why does Anonymous expect that the US government will negotiate with them?

somehow I have this feeling that Anonymous is not acting alone, maybe someone like Kim Jiong Il is behind them. The person who had the idea of using a group like Anonymous to disrupt the US is a pure genius
Why wage cyber war on the US if you can get their own citizens to do it themselves?

and i bet Anonymous is not actually worthy of concern, the others who would "play along" to do some hacking at the same time and the 4chan people with their Denial of service software is going to cause much more damage than Anonymous

And yes, i believe Anonymous is at least loosely organized. It is a forum originated movement, and I bet it does have de-facto leaders (just like how you can probably figure out the leaders of the subsim modding scene)

There is not a de-jure leadership. Instead, the leaders use their influence to "lead the community". People follow them because they are perceived to be skilled, wise, or knowledgeable etc, not because they have a rank or something like that.

I'm actually all for questioning authority.
Always have been, always will be.
Authorities need to be held accountable for their actions, just like everyone else.
In that respect, i applaud any group or individual who does this, be it anonymous or not.
NOW, the question is, what motifs exist for the questioning?
And also, why is it so surprising that the group Anonymous is anonymous? Surely you don't expect to tell the world your name is Jon Smith and you are about to go on a crusade of questioning the Authority, via means that may not be exactly clean and virginal?
Doesn't surprise me one bit.
The point i'm making is that we need to always ask questions.
Or do we just sit down and shut up and let the authorities spoon-feed us the (in a lot of cases garbage) information to us and believe that that is the end and we should believe it's the truth?
Not me.
So, to Anonymous, i say go for it, question away, but, do it in such a way that doesn't harm anyone.
Seeking the truth is undeniably a right!
To each and everyone of us.
It's how we seek the truth that defines the good from the bad, or the ugly in some cases.

How are you even on the internet? This whole place is bursting to the seams with porn. Just go on google image search, turn safesearch off, and search for something completely innocent. But don't search for the word innocent. If you don't find a porn link with sample vids right away, you'll find one soon., or so I've heard. You could type in the word "carburetor" and probably find..... you know what, never mind, I don't want to think about that.

Anonymous hit Warner Bros in latest Operation Payback attack


Hacktivists name DDoS targets.
The Anonymous hacktivist collective temporarily took down the website of Warner Bros Records with a distributed denial of service attack yesterday.

According to unconfirmed reports, the group was also attempting to download Warner Bros emails and archived material.
