All things, including serial characters, run their course, follow the sun and settle beyond the horizon. Rather than bore a few readers, I´ve decided to kick Balz upstairs behind a desk in Flensburg from where he can quietly watch the war and the goings on in the world of SH3.
i like to take this opportunity to thank every one of you who have supported Balz and his antics for a number of years. It has been great fun.
As they say in Japanese when speaking German and singing in Italian,
Grazie, you all. :D

Thank you for the great reads, Balz and Kingmaker!
I had mentioned at one point if the collected works were in an anthology somewhere. I discovered that reading the collected threads was much better, as the interactive nature of your writing made the whole experience.
Thanks Brag.
I personally appreciate the help you've provided me with my little story. (Which, BTW, is still alive, just slow. Next chapter will be out shortly.)

When we returned from patrol, I assembled the crew to tell them the news. They took it quietly, and bravely. Together, we carefully wrapped our hand-knitted, official U-49 tea-cozy in tissue paper and mothballs & sent it to my 1WO's Aunt Bertha in Dresden for safekeeping.

We'll always have HajiJimbuna's magic flying carpets and the twirling choirs to see us through the dark patrols. :sunny:

Sigh, this is a sad day.
All we need now is for them to be collected in a single thread for easy reading.
So, the end has finally come for Balz! :nope:
You could always sell his tea cosy hat to a museum.
Thanks for all the laughs Alex. It was fun while it lasted.:yeah:

I found the best way to read them is by doing a search on it, the comments help shape the story, so it's best to read them with them included.
