View Full Version : What port is this?
Given that previous post, on port and environment, as I had promised a prize to the winner of the correct answer, but because the winner of unknown cause has not come to light, so the price has been confiscated so that means that he who has the right answer get this price in this thread :D

There are many ways to figure this out but, have you been playing SH3 with GWX, so it is "fairly" easy :yep:

Is it Dunkirk / Dunkerque / Duinkerken? Not right, have you played much with the SH3 + GWX3? :salute:

Yep. I only play with GWX 3, but that doesn't mean I recognize all harbors. I hardly aver raid one, but I tried Dunkirk once. This kind of looked like it.
(Wouldn't recommend raiding Dunkirk btw. Very shallow, mines all around. I tried Gibraltar a few times, which is much easier)
Alright, this time a complete guess: Hartlepool?

Alright, this time a complete guess: Hartlepool?Yes, Dunkirk is tough compared to Gibraltar, but even after 1942 the resistance becomes more difficult to cross the strait, I have not been in all the ports that are available, although there are many that I have visited, you are right that there is a small town / village but Hartlepool is not the right, unfortunately....

It would simply be a guess seeing as how most of the ports are pretty similar in general appearance.
Only differentiation would be if a sub pen or hill or building etc stood out.

Only differentiation would be if a sub pen or hill or building etc stood out. And then you have bared his disguise, of course, this is difficult, since it is difficult to see which flag the ship is in port, but it is a port that does not have diversity of the sub pen as an example

Clearly the RAF is present in the area, and it's desert. I've raided one port like that. If I remember right it is... Freetown.
Oh yes, I remember making maneuver inside the harbor and sinking a 20k tons ship and 3 other merchants. And I remember it had some coastal guns too.
Unless it is another more to the south-east. But I can't remember if it was a harbor or a coastal city. But I guess it is not Cape Town, it is too small.
The roundel on the plane looks like RAF. The overall terrain seems a bit brown, desert like and without green trees, the flag on the ship looks red. Perhaps it's mediterranian? Tripoli or something like that. What year is it anyway?

Mobile, Alabama.
And I know this, because, on the right, just out of the frame where the AA guy is, is Jim's Crab Shack.
Well, Jim's was there, until the big algae thing in 1974, so Jim had to fold. But his old Daddy was there in 1940. He was named Jim, too, so it waren't no problem when Jim jr took over, didn't have to change signs or nothin.
Larry's Pig Shack has been there ever since then; he does a fine pulled pork barbecue.
