Not sure about the RN subs, but the size of the KM subs are generally relative to their type (not directly, and sub types differ), II-VII-IX-XXI. There are other modded subs people have introduced that I'm not familiar with that may break that mold.
IF you got to the museum ingame, it lists all those stats.

I'm pretty sure the IX class subs were larger than the XXI class subs...

Photo finish?
:haha: sorry couldn't help myself.
But here's what U-boat.net says:
Technical information for type IXC/40
Length: (m) 76,76 oa
Technical information for type XXI
Length: (m) 76,70 oa
So it's really a photo finish after all :O: Makes me wonder about the picture you posted Ducimus, which types are they?

It looks like a Type VIIC, a IXD2, and probably a IXB.
I think.

Hmmm... I always thought the XXI was bigger since it had more crew and loadout. Could have just been better built, more efficient.
heh, missed where someone already answered the question lol

I think the Balao class might be the largest of all subs in the game, coming in at 93.57 meters.

Well, I don't have size issues, so I'll just stick with my VII :DL

Well,
Let me say that theoretically the largest was XXI type. Both in lenght and overall appearance.
The problem is that practically, XXI type, was not used in the war at all except probably one copy or prototype.
So the biggest ones were the most advanced IX type U-boats in my opinion.
The smallest ones were coastal IID type U-boats.
