What a waste! All the excuses are just a smoke screen. Heck! They even have a B-52 on display in Australia and they can't give one F-111 to the Australian War Memorial!:nope::nope::nope::nope::nope:

Why give two back to the US when we can't even keep them for display????

That does seem strange.

Man, I'm not happy about that.... I'd have liked to go and see the F-111 if the AWM was able to take it in... :wah:
It is ridiculous that the US can take two but the rest getting shredded.

The iconic planes, that never fired a shot in anger but spent years entertaining crowds

If memory serves correctly, we used them to bomb Libya. I think one got shot down, not sure.

They were used in Vietnam and Desert Storm as well. They meant none of their F-111's fired any shots in anger, I suppose.

Why not put in a bid yourself, and put in in the back garden(if you got one):D.

Might just do that. I reckon I could squeeze it in somewhere.

Probably a similar outcome awaits the Harrier unless a museum has already made a successful bid/overture I'm unaware of.

I think we should all write Arnold the ex-Governator to make a bid for one. :88)

He could probably afford to buy one of each :yep:

Love to have one, but the council would be a real killjoy!:nope:

No but a couple of aircraft purchased as replacements/spare parts did have battle damage from their service with the US. One did achieve fame of doing a mock bomb run on the offices of a federal member of parliament who said something bad about the air force.... alas, they didn't drop a bomb!

Well, a memorial would be most befitting then. :DL
