Sure many here have, lost my father years ago, now were told mom may have a few weeks left, her living will takes care of the life support issue, but trying to call all family in.

Time flies. I can still see her young and beautiful throwing birthday parties for us when we were kids.

Love your parents young folks......

I dread the day I lose either of mine. Just dread it. Your mother will be in my thoughts Armistead, I hope that it is a peaceful goodbye.

Never easy to lose a parent. We all know that the day will come, but it is still horrible.

Very sorry to hear this. I hope that when her time comes, she can pass with dignity and little pain.

My father died when I was 14, my mother when I was 25. They were tough times, but the quiet and lonely holidays that followed were far worse. It wasn't until I met my wife and started my family that I began to feel whole again. You have my sympathies.

Oh, man, Arm - I am honestly sorry; it seems like yesterday sometimes that I had to do almost the same as far as dealing with my mom's illness and passing - I know where you're standing right now, and I know how hard this is.

You and your family are in my thoughts here, for what that's worth.

My sincere condolences Armistead. I lost my father to cancer 13 years ago this month.

My father passed away 1 year ago tomorrow...March 11th 2010. Heart attack.

My wifes parents passed at age 50 (mom) and 55 (father). Both cancer.

This really got me ^^^^ :yep:

Where does the time go. Both of my parents are in their early 70s, seems like yesterday that they were taking me to the rink or out for Halloween. Now I am doing this for my own kids.

My sympathies.

That's sad. Thank you for reminding us. My mother has a tumor since a few years ago she refuses to see the doctor to check it out and operate it.

It's growing too. It started small. She's very stubborn, a lot of times without good reason I must say.

Ouch :( You guys will be in my prayers. Just found out recent that an uncle-in-law contracted hepatitis A, and they're giving him a few more weeks to live. Always tough when it's a relative, but I can't imagine how it must feel with a parent :nope:

Sorry to hear that-I try to call my folks regularly and visit once a year. Had a scare when my Dad underwent a bypass last November though it went very well.

Time flies so quickly.

I'm sorry to hear that. I lost my father almost two years ago to a stroke. You are right, we should make the most of the time with our family that is given to us.

My parents are all fine, but losing my grandfather on my dads side really hit me. He died from a combination of Parkinson's disease (which we only found about after his death) and Paget's disease.

I lost my father a year gone last December....you really think they are going to be with you forever but then the time comes and all you have left are good memories.

Remember them with love and kindness because that is surely how they will remember you.

BLESS EM ALL!!

My father died in 2006. It left a huge void in my life. Nothing replaces your parents, particularly if your relationship with them was good. Make sure you show them you love them whenever you can.

I also wish to express my sympathy.
I wish you all the energy and power you need for the next weeks to cope with the events.
