So I told myself earlier that I would never attack ferrys and the likes because that's just cruel.
And now I sunk a 80000 ton ship, which looked and weighed just as much as the Queen Mary.
Ops.
In my defence it came up as "Troop Ship", I use the Cerberus Additional Merchants and an enhanced ship recon manual, so maybe that's why it didn't recognize it as a passenger liner.
Anyways, I'm gonna tell myself that it was an empty Queen Mary heading from the states and was going to be used for mass troop movement in the channel, Ahoy!
Btw, it was Oct 1939 and it was southeast of Ireland, not that far out, but still definantely out in the sea.
Funny thing is, I was just about to dive to do a hydro check and my crew spots it at the Horizon coming straight at me, these are indeed happy times.
I engaged it with a torpedo salvo of four (launched many since I was unsure of the accuracy of my calculation since it was not in the manual) and 1 hit. Then I stalk it on the surface and manage 2 more hits, although, 2 missed at point blank range due to my inexperience with torp firing in SH5.
I finished it off with the deck gun, although I don't know how realistic that was because it was 14 m/s wind, although I was sitting still, and I just fired a few AP rounds.
:arrgh!:
