View Full Version : How i can touch the sea ground with sub?
Hi, before all i want to say thanks to all modders for their nice job.
But i remember that in SH3 i can get touch the sea ground and now in SH5 the sub stops a few metters before, it is possible to fix that? i think that it is more realistic if we can get damage doing that action. thanks!
:salute: you mean to go down with the submarine to the bottom and "lie" to rest or make repairs..:lurk:
yeah, really i remeber a subs movie -cary grant was the cap i think :haha:- and to avoid deep charges they gone to bottom with the sub resting over the sand, touching the ground and the warships were waiting up.
we can do it in SH3 but now i think that we canŽt.
I Just run SH5 when the game came out, and since then, there have been things with SH5 I run only SH3+GWX3 now more, and if you can do with SH5, I can not answer, but there are those who can, so wait a while and get the answer to your question, good luck

Excelent news, thats mean what its possible using a mod, maybe if you are using JSGME you can see what mods are activated in the right window, can you make a copy paste please? iŽll use the same ones, actually im using this group.

I believe that it is one of TheDarkWraith's mods that allows for this. I am not certain which one it is either.

i remember that when i tested the Trevally script for evading from airplane.... and when the crash command was executed i hit the bottom and i had damages... i spoked with Trevally about that - and i remember he told me that he will use some if and else commands (when tdw will modif his automations) in the case that the dept under the keel is less than 50 metters... so i am sure that i had this at least once in sh5:hmmm:

He also stated it was left over from earlier versions.
But only in some places.
As Terrain height is controlled by the stuff Ref wrote editors for in earlier versions?
Could it be a color problem with those files or such?
:hmmm:
Hi guys,, then if it is a bug we can't do something, really is not a big problem, maybe it will be fixed in SH6. I tried go deeper but the max what i did: 4 metter under sub.

I dont understand that people say that its just in some places. Its allmost everywhere!! I never gound a spot where you could put the boat on the sea-floor. But it seems that this one is not fixable.

It may be fixable but we need to stumble upon how to fix it.
Nearly all other issues from other versions of SH take someone
messing about to find that clue.
I'm still suspecting a Bones problem in the GR2 files.
They are not viewable in Game but used for many reasons.
It's clear to see that some are located below the Sub and roughly match the bottoming Bug.
:hmmm:
Id give my eye teeth for a fix of this problem

the bug can be really annoying at times. Esspesscially when doing a scapa flow kind of mission. I was on the east trying evadeecause DD,s and trying to gain every meter i could because ik only had about 150 meters depth to play with. I got as deep as 130 meters before i hit the " bottem " vegatation seems distorted and the plants look weird becauise the stemd can be as long as a tree. Really look stupid. Word has it that it cannot be fixed because of some weird coding problem.

What mod are you using to get your speed setting and depth gauge?

That would be my UIs mod. You can find it in the SH5 mods workshop  I just released v6.4.0 of it yesterday :DL

i think its set so you can never go lower then the highest point within a given range so if you are near a rising formation it can look like you almost get there but it sounds like what is needed is to use magic to raise the visual image to meet the sub and let the game go ahead and still think you are off of the bottom as it seams determined to mandate.
yet you bottom out when beaching the sub shallow so seafloor must be controlled seperate from whats considered to be land

This is the most irritating bug as far as i,m concerned. I once hit the "bottum" while there was at least 30 to 40 meter water underneath me! Such an immersion killer and so obserd!
