Fresh Start??

Guys here is the situation My computer died and I now have a Win 7 system ( new computer ) had xp before. Had SH III commander enjoyed it but always wanted more details like re-supply at sea and more minor ports and things like that. Can anyone direct me on where I can install the game from internet if I recall there is some kind of download site that you pay a fee for. ( MY old disk just does not do it ) Also I want to sequence my install in correct sequence if I recall Commander should not be install before the major mod Can anyone walk me through the process in my opinon SH III was the only one worth making an effort to assemble. SO
1 WhaT DOWNLOAD DO i GO TO?
2 DO I have to do any patches?
3 what site and mods do I go for
4 What role if any does commander play ( i enjoyed commander and respect it)

Thanks for your help as this maybe my last chance to really install enjoy and play SH III as I really think the SH II and IV and V have not done it for me Thank you for your help

If you want to download the game itself, you'll need to purchase a copy from some online source. Steam has it, and I bought my digital copy directly from the Ubisoft store. There are probably other places you can buy it online, googling it will probably do the trick.

For supply at sea and more ports/units/etc., you will most likely want one of the supermods. There are stickied threads about most of them with download information and installation instructions in the SH3 Mods Workshop Forum.

There is also a stickied thread in the same forum regarding Commander, it's available in the Download section here. It's compatible with the stock game and all the supermods, once you have the game installed you can install Commander to use with it at any time (before or after modding the game).
