View Full Version : Help - Trying to track targets and estimate speed with WO and its not working

I just went through the tutorial and everything seems to work well when out on patrol except for the fact that I cannot get the Weapons Officer to follow a target or estimate its speed.

I also seem to not be able to get the Stad to work from the TDC controls after I hit manual input.

I have tried this from the UZO, attack scope and the observation scope and either I am missing something, or something is off.

I do not have the manual TDC option checked in settings but here is what I am doing so maybe someone can figure out whats wrong:

- Look at target through periscope
- Hit spacebar to track the target
- Tell XO to turn on the TDC and hit manual input (red/green button)
- Go to Weapons Officer bar and order him to give me an ID of the target
- Use Stad for distance (if I can get the Stad button to work)
- Use protractor in map to get an AOB
- Update AOB and Range in TDC manually

Here is where the problem arises:

When I go back to the weapons officer tab, the buttons for Follow Target and Get Target Speed are greyed out and I cannot press them. Why is this? What am I missing here? This happens every time.

Current active mods are:

Magnum Opus w/ Patch
Sober's realistic hydrophone
Trevally Tutorials
SUB Hyd_fix_SH5 (greyed out)

Another question is in the Generic Mod Enabler, I have Magnum Opus v0_0_1 and the Magnum Opus Patch_2 installed. The Magnum Opus v0_0_1 is enabled but greyed out and when I mouse over it it says Part 1 needs enabled. Is this normal? The patch is enabled and black. Just thought I'd ask.

Thanks

Trevally.

Hi vonCrandall

What you need to do is:-

Aim at ship and press space.
XO box will appear. Select manual target from this box.
Click on WPs offices and select follow target.
From same officer select ID target.
Press red button - turns green.
Set AOB and click the small button at its side (sent to TDC)
Set speed on speed dial.
Click green button to turn it red.
Use stadi to set range.
Fire.

If there is a long pause between setting range and fire, you may need to set range again as range will not update.

When the red button is set to green, this is for you to input data.
This data will not auto update until you press again and turn it back to red.

I figured it out.

For some reason I cannot track the target (spacebar) first. I have to have the WO follow the target and then I can track it.

Doesn't quite make sense, but that's what works.
