Can Anyone point me to a download which contains any scene.dat which is for 8km environment?

I was trying to resolve my issue with permanent clear blue skies even in storms and installed a weather update mod which appears to have corrupted my main scene.dat file.

This has resulted in me bieng unable to start ANY mission.... :damn:

Help! :salute:

This one is from the stock SH3 V1.4B,
don't know if this will do or not:

Here is the GWX3.0 scene dat

http://www.gamefront.com/files/14942865/GWX3_0_scene_dat_7z

I've downloaded it and it only contains a "scene.sim" file.

Do I rename that to scene.dat??

Try it both renamed and otherwise.....it may not work for you.

tried it out and is no help....feuer's file workd brilliantly and even resovled my sky issue. however i am wondring if using his file might effectively rollback my copy to stock level as it is a file from stock version....

wasnt the scene.dat one of the key files that was largely updated by greywolves expansion? if it IS then its increasingly looking like a complete reinstall of everything may be required! :'(

Are you using GWX3.0? (I don't believe you have mentioned thus far)

If the answer is 'YES' then a reinstallation is definitely your best way forward because the scene files are integrated and olc environmental was one of the major fundamental changes in the mods release.

Just on that, it's also always good to have several 'levels' of SH3's installed on your PC.
What i mean by that is a 'clean' version, unmodded, and a GWX version and maybe even a GWX version which has been modded/edited, ie cfg file, renown, guns etc etc edited.
Which is what i have. That way, if something goes wrong you've got various stages to fall back on. :salute:

Jim ,

scene.sim and scene.dat are totally different files . you can't rename the .sim to .dat and have a ....dat file !

disable all mods (that effecting env) at your gwx installation and the scene.dat that you have in your 'data' is 8 km .

well one piecee of good news....i seem to be someway to resolviing my issues....after doing some googling i found the topic had cropped up a couple of times with other ppl gettin same after using real world weather mod...

One person was using sh3 commander like me and reported succesful use after doing the technique called rollback...

So i checked commander and although i have mine set to rollback automatically there was an icon present for me to manually rollback commander..

I did so and i can now load sh3 again using base gwx scene data.

(16km data btw slows my mc to a halt)

so all i now need to do is to find out why i have no clouds showing in situations clouds should exist....eg storms or rainy weather....

One thing this error has now given me is a stock scene.dat to use which the other member who posted links to....i have this as a mod setup through jsgme.

Will b interesting to see what effect running this will have alongside gwx....i suspect it will mean i am effectively playing the stock version of the game? :hmm:
