Well in the end it all worked out, I managed to just borrow some money to buy the game. Havent started playing it yet.

I would like to publically apologize for all the things that went down with you guys in the other thread.
Yes, I was acting quite in-mature, and yes i do blame alot of my problems on other people.
BUT alot of things said by others were un-called for.
I would not like to bring my personal life into discussion anymore.
No hard feelings twords anyone if the same treatement is used to me from you.

So when I start playing (Any minute now) what happens first? should i install any mods before I start playing or SH3 commander? or should I wait and get a feel for it first?

wait and get a feel of it first maybe couple of patrols, then try the mods.

Did this really need another thread?

And try asking in the SH3 forums, you'll find better help there.

And grats on the game.

:yeah:

For a kid his age to come back and say what he's saying above?

Yeah, I kinda think it's worth another thread. :D

Glad you were able to get the game, Collin, you'll probably get more answers to questions about it in the dedicated forum, and they will vary widely.

Probably not a bad idea to fire it up at least once "as is" just to get a feel for it. Some people will tell you to play the stock version a bit before you start tinkering and adding, to get a feel for what you like and don't like and what stuff you'd like to add or enhance if possible.

Some people will tell you to pick out some mods or a supermod and slap 'em on there right away. It's really up to you. But there are threads about most of the "big" mods in the Mods Workshop Forum where you can get some info or ask questions before trying them out.

SH3 Commander is a stand-alone program, so you can actually install it any time and start using it whether you have other mods running or not. It works fine with the stock game and AFAIK with any of the supermods as well.

Not sure what OS you are using, but if it's Windows 7 you should probably install the game somewhere other than the default location, i.e., in its own folder outside of Program Files. For most people it makes modding the game more hassle-free in the long run.

It's a great ship and with a mighty fine crew!

If you report in in the SHIII forum, Kpt. Lehmann will probably hand out a potato peeler with a glare... :stare:

The first step to wisdom is realizing you're wrong. True learning comes when you first realize that you might be wrong about everything.

And it takes a man (no matter what the age) to apologize for his mistakes.

Trust me, that's not a put-down. I've been wrong so many times and apologized so many times that I have to think that way or go crazy.

Congrats on getting the game.

Play stock first to get a feel of the game and shoot day all those silly planes that will swarm over you like flies around a cream bun. Once you feel you got the hang of it and want to knock it up a knoch...BAM..GWX 3.0 Gold with SH3C and a few mods that take your fancy. :DL
