Castout you are missing out on the fun.
The trick is to watch Fox as though it is a parody along the lines of Brass Eye and just laugh your tits off.
Failing that you can watch it as actual news commentary and laugh your tits off at how anyone who could believe such lunacy.

They need to bring on a few healing preachers and the the show would be complete. You could get high when watching GB for fun..I love when he tries to summon up tears. Hannity and Palin's love affair. Funny, Christians love GB, but the ones I know think all Mormoms are going to hell.

Megyn Kelly is fun to watch.

Still, MSNBC is just as bad from the liberal side. They finally canned the nutcase.

These two networks show just how divided and stupid Americans are.

Be fair Armistead, that needs clarification.
Those two networks don't show how stupid and divided Americans are, they just show how stupid and divided some Americans are.
Its not that those particular americans are really any dumber than stupid people elsewhere, its just that they tend to make more noise and get noticed more.

Nah, I'll stick to it, each election cycle proves it as most Americans follow the rhetoric like sheep and keep voting in the same people. Americans would rather be entertained.

Sure, they're some smart ones like you, but most just fall for BS

some people don't seem to get that Fox != FoxNews, two different channels

That being said, I will never forget my first time: I was in Anchorage, AK, waching the international news on FN.
They consisted of a building being demolished in Los Angeles(!) and a panda baby born in China. This was all which was shown in the international section!
I still should sue them for spilling my beer and unable to continue drinking for several minutes due to stomach cramps :har:

Are you talking about Fox News or the political commentary on Fox?

Fox News is no better nor worse than any other network news. They do, sometimes cover stories the other networks don't cover.

Now the Political Commentaries on Fox news is a different story. There you know what their bias is and it should not come as a surprise. Just like if you watch the political commentary on MSNBC, you know what the bias is.

I just feel it is important to separate the news service from the political commentaries.

Umm you got it wrong. Since the 1998 reform now Indonesians have been enjoying unprecedented freedom of press and media. There are efforts to reduce this however. Our current president is not exactly a reformist and judging by some scandals it looks like he's trying to build a dynasty and it's my suspicion that Singapore regime is his inspiration :-(. But our press are among the freest in South East Asia. Far better than say Singapore and Malaysia media or the Phillipine. International freedom of press ranking confirms this as well. We have the freest press in South East Asia by a large margin. For Asia I think Japan holds the crown by holding the 2nd freest press in global ranking.

And I do think that they are FAR more reliable than FOX news in general. Just explaining. FOX news are often 'charged'. I accept that media can be biased but should not be charged with lies to champion certain idea or perspective. If a news media is lying to its audience it means it is insulting its audience. But at least FOX News is not lying by being sophisticated enough. Once you realize that show like GB actually telling a lie time to time then the host is indeed becoming a laughingstock not to be taken seriously and the fact that FOX news is hosting shows like GB lessen its credibility.

I try to take as neutral a stance as I can when evaluating news services. And while I will admit those you listed do lean a bit to the left, it is nowhere as far as FN leans to the right.

But that said, when I want to read print news, I read the AP. When I want to watch a news broadcast, I watch the BBCA. I get a little local news from the newspaper, but mainly form the local feed on the AP. Sports, i watch ESPN or read the local fan site, theclevelandfan.com

I don't trust ANY of the modern American news Agencies. I grew up watching Headline news, trying to get *gasp* the headlines. But today it is filled with so much fluff that You can't ever get a feel for the world picture anymore. All the domestic agencies are like that, either biased or Fluff.

Just another reason I want to move to Europe.....

The problem is all these outlets report based on their social views, with a goal of pushing a idealology. Fox and MSNBC are on the radical end of each spectrum, so at best you get tidbits of truth. I watch both, going back and forth as much as I can stomach. If something is important, one should get as much info as they can and make a decision based on their research and gut. I think many Americans do this, thus the majority is moderate in the middle, sadly our government is not.

.

That may likely be true. Fox is pretty obvious about it. MSNBC is pretty open, last time I watched (couple years at least). CNN is more subtle, but I think's it's there.

I grew up watching CNN and feel much more at home with their tone and style. Wish they would junk some of their prima donna correspondants, and get serious as news again.

OK, fine - a large contingent of subsimmers dislike Fox News.

Yet, judging by their success, and even larger contingent is too busy watching Fox News to notice.

Frankly I suspect that most of the people who dislike Fox News also have a dislike for the prevailing political doctrine on the network.

Shocking.

I try to take as neutral a stance as I can when evaluating news services. And while I will admit those you listed do lean a bit to the left, it is nowhere as far as FN leans to the right. Okay, fine - maybe you do evaluate news services. Clearly, however you missed MSNBC.

There is little more entertaining than the common hypocrisy of people who attempt to devalue their opponent's side all the while ignoring literally the same thing coming from their own.

It's much like the way that, after the recent Arizona shootings one side attempted to ascribe hate speech to the other. Now, merely weeks later, that other side is engaging in exactly the same thing.

Rose-colored lenses tend to filter the truth. One is well-advised to let go of such a bias. Of course you see your opinion as the base, ergo anything opposing it is to the extreme. Fox News fans see Fox News and unbiased and pure. MSNBC fans see the opposite.

The truth lies in the middle, and only a fool would believe that the nature of bias favors a side (think about that).
