These guys got it going on. On the sail looks to be two tubes to snorkel and a plexiglass dome with a camera inside. :hmmm:

I think they should install DCs and acoustic torps to all USCG cutters now.:arrgh!:

Cocaine subs. They've had em for years and getting better with them. I saw a news special on them a few months ago. The ones I saw were smaller, 3 man crew and really were surface runners with a deck profile that could dive a few meters if needed. This thing is huge.

What I wonder is how long it was operating before they found it. Mind you, they didn't find it at sea.

She is a nice looking boat, yea the sail looks like a GUPPY sail or at the scale shown a Japanese Kairyu class.

The hull form reminds me of a WWI era sub though....

Maybe the builders could produce a few for the Australian navy, we need a few new boats that work!

I'm sure the Royal Navy will be interested in buying some, what with the current problems with HMS Astute:nope:.

If the RN is having such problems we would be...

...more than (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_H_class_submarine) ...

...happy to build some for them... (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_S_class_submarine#Transferred_to_the _Royal_Navy_during_World_War_II)

...or even part of one for them...

There's been a few found in Ecuador - I thought this was one of them, but no, definately Colombia.

Should be seized, and given to Onkel Neal for future subsim meets :yeah:

But not used for drug-running (just some beers)

Fiberglass hull, 'scope, freakin' A/C.

Looks like we're gonna need some reinforcing of some bow plates on the National Security Cutters. Maybe a K gun or two for ol' times' sake.

So far, the smugglers are at least still defensive - they're not carrying any tin fish... yet.

But they're getting smarter. This is a step forward in tech for them, not back.

I'm trying to get some people together to build one for operations on Lake Ontario... :yep:

On the last photo, take out the jungle background and sailors for size comparison and it's almost like looking at a GUPPY..

What happen's when these guys start escalating size? Sooner or later they'll realize they can either

a) Buy an actual submarine from some nutjob country like Libya or Iran.

or

b) Build their own larger submarine. Though I don't think they'd be able to build their own torpedoes if they end up making a home-made sub large enough enough to carry, who knows what they could crop up from the Black Market.

Edit: I'm trying to get some people together to build one for operations on Lake Ontario...

Oooh Ooh! Count me in!

If I wasn't several thousands miles south and had any clue what to do I would jump right in :yep::haha:

A new idea for a Silent Hunter perhaps?

Picking up the coke and making your way through to the US.

Yes! Dodge pleasure craft! Watch for swimmers when close inshore! Manatee can damage your craft if struck with any type of speed! Make port and claim your booty!

:har:

Without eels on board you can only call it Silent Smuggler. However, unlike SH, the war never ends = infinite expansions .
Just don't lose your coke connection, or the digital wrongs management kicks you off the game..
