View Full Version : SHIII Demo?
Is there any place to get a Silent Hunter 3 Demo? I'm not sure if it will run on my PC and I want to see if it will before I buy it. I would look at the system
specs, but those aren't always correct, my computer *SHOULD* be able to play Battlefield 2, but it can't. Thanks in advanced!

Get this free product. It will tell you everything you could possibly want to know about your computer.

And no, there has never been a demo, at least that I know of.
Thanks for the help! Shame there isn't a demo.

SHIII disc goes for $10.00 (or less if you shop Ebay). The only way to tell if it will work is to get it and run it.
Actually, if there were a demo, it wouldn't help your situation as you would want to use mods, and most of the megamods require more CPU power, RAM and graphic card support that "vanilla" SHIII.

The suggested requirements are pretty accurate actually and GWX is designed to run on them, albeit a touch slower and dependant on what additional mods you install.
The best way as has already been stated is to purchase it and give it a spin.

not to be 'that guy' here, but in 2011 if you have a computer that cant run a game like battlefield 2, you really should invest in a new computer. I'm not talking about just swapping out some parts, but a new computer. If you were to say add RAM or get a new video card, then there are possibilities that your OS doesnt even support more than some arbitrary limit of RAM (of which the standard has surpassed now) because when the OS was designed (even XP) needing that much was inconceivable, and as to the video card, many of the past years video cards are too large to fit in the layout of older computers, and may easily surpass the power supply. etc etc and a whole bunch of other issues.
So if you plan on having a 'game' computer for the next 5-10 years, just bite it and get a new one that will last you that long. At some point one simply cant upgrade anymore and it becomes more costly to do such(the problems im beginning to face when using a computer that was originally built before this game was thought of).

My laptop fails (due to CPU speed) but I can run SH5 without any problems and with a decent frame rate.
However, I don't like SH5 and play only 3 and 4.

Make sure you run this through IE - doesn't like Firefox for some reason, don't know about Chrome or Opera (or any others!). :yep:
Firefox has in the present situation is substantially more secure an IE, but I guess it's a matter of taste, the type of browser you are using.
