Hi Guys,

Following on from all the great information in my previous thread...

Although the GWX skins for the UBoats are more realistic, personally im not too bothered about that aspect of realism, and I was much more comfortable with how the Uboats looked in stock SH3.

I was wondering if replacing the GWX skins with those from the stock SH3 would be ok or would it cause bugs?

Also does anybody know the location of the skins? Im only really bothered about the skins for the Uboats that we can actually control, both interior and exterior skins. Iv had a quick glimpse through the data folder however i cant work out which skins are for the Uboats that we control.

Thanks

Question is, why?

Is there something wrong with the skins that come with GWX? Is it causing lag/performance issues?

Basically, I try to stick with the philosophy of if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

No there is nothing wrong with them performance wise, I just prefer the look of the stock skins.

You will find the skins in the: data\Textures\TLowRes\tex folder.

Call me biaised but they are far superior to stock.

Sincerely hope you don't corrupt your installation during the removal and replacement process.

Are you kidding.....? Using a custom skin no matter how slight or vibrant it may be gives you at least an extra 2-3 knots on your cruising speed and reduces your detectability by at least 30%-40% :O:

In reality though, it is really cool to put on appropriate skins for your hunting areas (even though it doesn't give you any ingame bonus)I always find it cool when a proper camouflage scheme blends in well with the water/weather such that it's hard to see your ship even using the external cam at times.
