Very basic help - what's the best game?

There is no SH5 officially for Macs, correct? I have a Mac. I suppose I can't play SH5 here unless I use it under the Windows application (which I don't want to do).
What is the best u-boat sim I can get for a Mac?

As it is written on the box, only for PC. Valid for all SH series.

Sims for Macs, I'm afraid you're going have to google this, but I don't know of any serious sims running across platforms.

Someone care to shed light on why? :06: I can understand your reasoning, today it is in principle no problem then they most app, you can also run on Mac/O/S, but times are changing and soon there are no barriers at all,from the beginning was the problem that you know, today is the key word, flexibility.

Macs are designed and understood to be used for "work, and school" type situations, theyre not so much built to run games at all. At least thats my understanding. Ive used one before though, theyre still fantastic computers, simple too. And they come with a music editor / maker right out of the box plus many other features.

Erhm... what Mac do you have? Nowadays Macs are buildt on Intel CPUs, meaning you can install Windows on them...

I have a good Mac, only 2 yrs old. I know I can install Windows but I heard reports from so many people that SH5 and other versions didn't run properly on their Mac Windows applications so I didn't bother.
I wouldn't mind trying this Danger from the Deep but I don't know how to install it...

I own both a mac and a PC. I do all my gaming on the PC, however. I recommend you use Boot Camp and setup a Windows partition. That way you will essentially have a Windows machine for your gaming needs. Depending on the model of Mac that you have, SH5 could run fine on that config.

If you don't want to go that far, you could get Silent Hunter 3, which is a fantastic game. Because it is a bit older, I would guess that it could run okay in a VM on your Mac (again, assuming you have a newer mac with plenty of ram).

I tried using Wine to use some Windows applications and couldn't figure the dam thing out.
