Game slow in the later part of patrol

In the beginning of the mission everything is fine, I can time compress to get into the combat areas fast. However when I'm going back home and try to time compress it starts lagging heavily when I go over 126x

This means it could take me 2 hours real time just to get to Midway for refuel.

Anyone had this problem and knows a solution.

I'm new to this game and I have no mods.

Happened to me and to alot of ppl before;

backup docs/SH4/data and uninstall game, clean registry as instructed in this thread

, and perform a fresh reinstall. May I assume you have SH4 ver 1.5?

If you got SH4 first and then uboot off steam, the game installs itself twice and files become corrupted I think. Try to get U boot as a disc (= SH4 Gold) and spare yourself trouble.

Yes I have the Steam version, including U-Boat. I'm not gonna buy the game again, and also It won't be available here in Iceland.

I might try to uninstall both and just install U-boat pack, might work.

OK uninstalled both, then I checked the registry for the registry key that other thread gave but it wasn't there.

I of course had the steam version so it might be somewhat different.

Tried to reinstall just the U-boat missions part and that wen't ok. I can start the game. Tried loading my save and it's still lagging.

Tried to start a War Patrol and it crashed to desktop.

Now if I would have the cd version wouldnt I still have this problem because the steam version was already installed?

Anyone sucessfully got the steam version running?

Ok uninstalled the game again. Removed all registry keys (there isn't the one mentioned in the reinstall thread because steam does it differently probably) and installed the cd version of the game, and then the uboat version.

Added the TMO mod and started a campaign full of hope. All good so far until I've been out some 10-15 days on my first patrol and time commpression starts acting up again.

I'm seriously pissed. I bought this game and really want to play it but can't.

Are you sure the time compression problem has anything to do with competability issue between expansion and original game?

Well i looked at a few other threads and some of them Mention the Island of Truk, well it just so happens I wen't close to Truk just before this happened.

Is there anything more you woud like to know, I'm not really savvy about the technical stuff (hardware at least, I'm pretty good with software).
