I see Windows 8 will be out in two years or less, it will have all new code
in the OS. I also see microsoft will have out a new Flight Sim about the
same time, that will work on Windows 8. The big ? is will SH3 work on it,
I just hope to hell it will. I also hope we will a new Subsim out by that time.:cry:

WHAT DO YOU THINK ??

I think I don't even have 7 yet. And when I get a new machine I don't plan on throwing out the old one. And you can partition drives and keep XP to run SH3 with. I don't see a problem.

It would be nice to think there could be a new silent hunter that would have all the best bits from the last couple of games

Yes, that Microsoft Flight Sim game, is the longest game running. Started
back with the first one back in 1995!!! There must be alot of people that
like it.:DL

You sure MSFS started in '95? I remember using it in middle school..... Pretty sure there was one from the late 80's. And yes, MSFS.

As to SH3 and 8? My question is.. who cares? It's 3+ years away (they say 2). I'm sure there will be another top end sim by then... UBI or not...

Anyways, M$ has done a decent job at legacy compatibility.... so I'm sure there will at least be modes to run older software.

Well considering each version of Windows builds off of the previous version I'd say it will work on 8 no problem.:yep:

I'd love to finally see one done right. That said, I'll believe it when I see it.

Oh, and I still have my copy of MicroSoft Flight Simulator, for my Atari 520ST, that I bought back in 1988.

Too soon to tell. Or atleast to worry about. They do try to keep compatibility with older applications/games so there is hope. But you never known what feature they come up with that might go against what the Ubisoft devs expected of Windows XP.

If MS creates an OS that's not backwards compatible, you can expect to see it gathering dust on the shelves. Only die hard fanatics will be upgrading if none of their software is going to work.

Exaclty, they will never see any corporate sales if the older software won't work. If the older stuff ain't broke, don't fix it. I still use XP for that reason. Cheaper too, with 4 licenses floating around here, each new machine I build gets XP, replacing the old machine which gets a version of linux.
