Anyone who takes them this seriously needs to get a life. Mind you I don't think TG will give a rats as it is free advertising.

Reviewing the Mastretta, Hammond said: "Mexican cars are just going to be lazy, ****less, flatulent, overweight, leaning against a fence asleep looking at a cactus with a blanket with a hole in the middle on as a coat."
Well, he got the "leaning" part right. What a vato mobile looks like. (http://www.flickr.com/photos/kas585/1176688029/) It's not authentic though, unless it has a small steering wheel. I'll ahh.... zip my trap at this juncture. :O:

Who hasn't TG insulted? One of my favorite shows BTW.

I can kind of see the ambassador's point, though. I think those remarks totally mischaracterize the Mexican people. I should know; they all live here now:DL

Jemery won the TG award for best pickupline when he was talking to a woman in the audience: "Your american?!?! Your not nearly fat enough"

Well, they have insulted the US so many times, and in the latest show took on their Australian counter-parts and won (by cheating - see the souped-up transit van). So I don't think this latest incident will harm the show, its to popular.

Hell, they were banned from travelling to the US for a while.

Frankly I have always though that show was for brainless people.
<forum nazi english mode> Anyhow fixed the title of the thread, no reason to be possessive (particularly singular possessive) :O: </forum nazi english mode>

That's actually the point of the show I think. Funny semi-informative comedy show.

TG is one of the best shows produced for the BBC, it (and it's franchise) are loved the world over with a few exceptions;
(Most) Americans, Canadians, Australians, Mexicans, Turks, Poles, Germans, Russians, French, Welsh, Scots, Cornish, Pedestrians, Hikers, Cyclists, Farmers, Lorry Drivers, People with computers, People with mobile phones, Gingers - to name but a few :D
Anyone offended should either know that it's all tongue-in-cheek, or they should switch channels. Me, I love it

From what I've heard about Top Gear their humor strikes a certain chord. Wonder what the BBC is willing to sacrifice to keep their gravy train rolling. :)
The Xmas 2010 special upset folk, so what's new? The last series or the one before that upset lorry drivers and prostitutes.
Refresher...

Nah...brainless people watch MTV's crappy programming....can't help just to roll my eyes when my younger sis is watching that crap what they show on there. I thought the M stood for Music... but guess you can replace the word MUSIC with Mindless.

Ditto....it's popularity ratings around the globe probably speak for themselves.

I've heard things just as offensive (if not more) in the course of a normal day. Nothing wrong with a little garage humor. :)
I've only ever watched one episode, though, so it's only the things I've read in this thread so far that I have to go by.
Edit: Now, if they made fun of my mother they'd best be hiding somewhere safe. :haha:

Who the heck is dumb enough to take TG - purposefully politically incorrect - approach to story telling seriously? If you're offended - you bloody deserved it.
Have they had ago at the mother in law? :hmmm: :haha:

Thank you I-25 for this vote of confidence in the BBC's premier show, you may go back to sleep now :03:

I have to admit that the part that instantly bugged me was the stuff about Mexican food. As a long-time TG fan, I've seen what these guys will and won't eat on some of their overseas adventures (they seem very much less adventuresome regarding food than cars ;) ), and James' comments about food clearly show he's never actually had real Mexican food. If the US got nothing else from the Mexicans but cuisine it would be a total win for us.
It's probably because NM cuisine comes from a Mexican starting point and I see a lot of it (New Mexican "traditional" cuisine is pretty limited, actually, but we have good, real mexican places, and "Santa Fe" cuisine is closer to foody Mexican than "traditional" NM food).
Just typing this made me want tacos al pastor for lunch...

Any Albanian Mafia on here? Although they did go easy on the Albanians this week. For some reason.

Albanian? I thought that was Reece?
I'm surprised no one has complained about Top Gear's fascination with the penis, hardly a show goes by without some reference being made about it.
