Hello gentlemen,
At the minute I`m pretty engrossed in SHII. I have already installed the projekt schwertfisch sound patch and i`m delighted with it as my german is at a decent standard , this was simple enough for me as it was an initializing set up thing but now i have a problem.
I`ve downloaded some of the other the bits and bobs. detailing to merchant shipping/das boot scope kit /water mod etc. They`re just zip files and I`m not sure where I should extract them to or if I should. I have windows 7 if thats any help.
For love nor money I don`t know what to do with them now that they`re on my desktop. Sorry for the dumbass needing guidance here but I`m not 100% computer literate.
Any pointers appreciated.
Brian
Those are rar files , download 7 zip to open the files, if you are running sh2 on xp or vista is fine. You'll have to bare with me I have to go to another site to get the link. http://www.win-rar.com/download.html (http://www.win-rar.com/download.html)

Thanks , I now have winrar. I tried to open one of the files with winrar. Whats the procedure now to get it into the game? :06:
Thanks by the way for the help
If winrar loaded properly open the file at desktop in side the folder hit the wizard button it put files in a new folder at desktop where you can download like regular files. I'm new with winrar myself just came across it acouple weeks ago.

I can download the files and open them but I need to know where to extract them to. Sitting on my desktop isn`t much fun
When I open C drive then Silent Hunter, I know in other games you drop them into certain folders. I`ll keep trying. I like the idea of seeing the Bismarck too.

Do yourself a favor and pick up JSGME ( Mod Enabler ) : Here (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=173324)
It is a must for installing and uninstalling Mods :yep:
Here is a nice Online Guide to using it :yep:
Online JSGME User Guide (http://www.users.on.net/%7Ejscones/software/documentation/JSGMEUG.pdf)
Edit: Just had another look at the Thread\Forum Title, thought this was SH3
Does JSGME work with SH2? It has been awhile since I played it.
Read the readme file, every thing is pretty straight forward, folder to folder. Your best plan of attack is open your silent hunter file on your hard drive and take a tour of the files so can see the lay of the land. now I'm running off the top of my head , so bare with me , if you have a unit file copy it, go to c - programs - sh2 - sim - unit - paste.

i dont know how I managed this but after adding a LOT of mods my game went tits up. Every mission started with the boat capsizing and sinking. Had to uninstall the game and restart the whole campaign :damn:

This is exactly what is happening to me right now. I wonder how you're progressing with your game. I've read the thread here and I think I will look into the advise of yubba.
