Hello sub warfarers of the 7 seas...:)

After a few weeks of modding SH5 to realistic standards(trial and error then some more error added to the trial and finally got there thanks to you guys:D) I got my diploma from a weird character at a bunker(must have asked him a dozen times if he was ready to giva a sub command to a guy who sent down 4 polish sitting ducks with 3 and a half torpedo and at least three rereads of the posts how to get to that damn Stern gun, using yet another small ladder:o)

Well after finally accepting a new patrol I got there and was even IN the large saucage called U28. My first patrol took me a real time play of about 24hr's. Most of which I spent falling down the ladders to the conning deck and respectfully drowning:smug: the crews of 4 Destroyers and 4 merchants before the English coast trying to figure out how the TDC works in SH5, which is mostly NOT. Had to learn the above mentioned ships how to dive manually(they can if you make large holes in them) *grins* which works for me as well I must add.

The second patrol..wow there is one Lucky Bastard there, ME, Patrolling the BE BF sectors(old SH3 map) and having just sent down a nice T2 to make a great fishing ground for future fishing boats I was kinda relaxing plotting and cunning(you don't want to see my face then, looks a bit like Lord Blackadder in the first series) to find another easy target to my well filled tubes(they do fill quickly don't they, anyone has a tip to make that more realistic?:hmmm:) when my always ready look out guys screamed "Kampfverband in sicht" which must mean "better get your ass at periscope depth Herr Kaleun a nice crash dive is certainly a good second option" so I stumbled the ladders again and forgot to shut my well "shutting thingie" How is that, yes, Hatch...and after some thirty seconds of tearing hairs again...(look a stupid guy who is trampling his white capped erm cap pulling his hair out and shouting what the freakin f**k am i doing wrong again:damn:)

After that hilarious piece of comedy for my crew who where laughing hard while writing their last will and shoving it under my radio mans ass to transmit it to their beloved wifes I got the first ladder up to the conning tower finding my so well polished attack periscope turning it to my 180 and saw nothing but destroyers and a black huge wall of steel amids them....my head said lower this periscope crash dive this baby to at least 150, no one will notice after all you yellow bastard. But, but my heart yelled.....look at that Black metal wall. My heart skipped a few beats when I saw how huge it was and thus how near the destroyers were. Turning the boat 90 degrees (thank you so much TDW! for my beloved dials:up:) keeping up with the periscope, the electric engines all powered up.... there she was... my first very first aircraft carrier(does this mean I am a virgin or she is?) fiddling through the pages of the Reco manual and having her silhouette against a dark blue sky I waited in angst.....and waited some more to have three destroyers pass me.

I must have really have a very small periscope and they must have had the sleepiest watch crews ever or drunk whom am I to tell? Anyway after hitting the E-engines a few times at full speed ahaid and then stopping my U28 rather abrupt by hitting them in reverse then which must have had the cook worried, he was doing large beans out of cans, large cans....I was in the middle of the action...at 700 meters and a mere 15 knots(a bit slow for a carrier no? or is that the destroyers that hold it back?)I was able to send 3 nicely working fishies in her belly followed by a dud(there is always one dud...mostly it is me says my boss. But my english is far superior then his so he keeps me on to translate his and type his horendous orders to the human workforce during the week, at weekends I dabble as a Captain.:03:)

Anyway....She sank in about an hour real time , my periscope up, I know I am a fool and any AI who works well should have picked it up but I was actually looking in awe to see the Ark Royal go down, even made some stupid gestures with my fingers at my screen whilst! What now? or better what next? Did I change the outcome of the war and am I speaking native German from now on? I Live in Belgium you know....Not that far.....and they were eager to stay...we had to chase them with guns. *laughs*
Anyhow to make a very long and strange story short, did anyone shoot her Royal Heighness's Ark Royal before? Or do I get a Knights Cross with oak leaves at the end of my patrol? In a little wooden box with a text that says..."Héhé you fool the AI is very angry at you and never did anyone shoot the Royal Ark without us telling the others"

yours....

Welcome to SubSim!

You're in the wrong forum. This is General Topics (GT for short). You want SH5: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/forumdisplay.php?f=244

Don't worry, I am sure that Neal, Xabba or Neon will move the post up there eventually, so it will find it's way home.

Anyway, it is nice to have you and I am glad that you are enjoying the game.

My very first post to Subsim was an AAR from one of my patrols in SH3. Guess where I posted it? Right here in GT. :har:

No worries, mate. Welcome aboard. :DL
