Hi all

I'm about to get a massive nervous breakdown here.

Yesterday my JSGME started to turn my sub gaming life into sh*t.
It simply chose not to enabling mods correctly or even disabling them resulting various strange behaviour in-game.

So what to do?

- Since I'm running Windows bit I downloaded the latest version:
2.6.0 - 8 August 2010 - 904Kb (for Microsoft Windows XP/Vista/7)
-Then I installed the way I've done many times before. It installs flawlessly but then...
When I try to run it the first time (following JSGME's instructions to use the newly created desktop icon) my OS, Win7 64 bit, tells me
"You can't access the unit, path or file. You might not have the right authorization to get access to the object".

I've tried different install options:

- No changes to compatibility or "run as an administrator".
- Run as an administrator.
- Changing compatibility (right after downloading the JSGME this is not checked so I checked it and tried some of the options. XP and Vista with and without Servicepacks).
- Changing these compatibility for starting the JSGME after install.
- With and without "administrative privileges" (that's what its called in swedish. You know the box at the bottom of the Compatibility tab).

I'm stuck. Please help me out. Don't know of any more options to try.

Anyone seen this before?

I just extract it to the Silent hunter 5 game folder . I say no to a desktop icon . I run the mod and it creates a MODS folder in the silent hunter 5 game folder . I put my mods in there . I do put a shortcut of the silent hunter 5 games folder on the desktop though for quick access . Running windows 7 64 bit , latest jsgme .

If you delete jsgme there is also a jsgme configurations setting file as well .

What do you mean. You heard about reported problems with v2.6.0.157?:06:

I saw no reason to install later versions as this one does exactly what I need without error or problems.

Thanks Sober

Never saw that one before.

Well, there's always something to learn around here.

Geez what a response. And cyber quick. :yeah:

When you're having issues help is never far away around here.

For one - Sober's info about the remaining files whenever deleting JSGME was new to me. Can be useful later (but hopefully I won't need it).

But (as Monty Python say) "now for something completely different".

Right after writing my first post the other night I tried something I never tried before.
I don't know abot other versions of windows7 but at least in Win7 64 bit Pro there is in the right click menu a possibility reset the folder to previous version...
Before resetting I just copied my logs ( .dat & .sje ).

That did the trick!
It never was a corrupt JSGME.
I'm running the v2.5.0.150 too and I don't find any reason to upgrade.

Thanks again to all! :salute:

This is why I first thought there might be something spooky going on. Or is it some kinda weird drill? :o
