....Dennis Kucinich is now suing Congress' cafeteria for $150k because he chomped down on an olive pit. This makes me think two things: He has very, very expensive teeth and we can now consider olive pits to be 'dangerous substances'. What the hell?

I was having lunch with my dentist (a very good friend of mine), and got a fragment of olive pit in some olive focaccia—broke my temporary crown.

They gave me a note for a free meal for 2 (food and drink, whatever we wanted). I thought that was just fine (went back and Steve made me a new temp, lol).

I could see a bill for a new temp if your dentist charged you, but nothing past that. Typical ambulance-chaser mentality.

I was really holding out for the Kucinich-Mckinney ticket for 2012.

That's the ticket America needs. :yeah:

In the lawsuit, Kucinich alleges that the defendants served him food "that was unwholesome and unfit for human consumption" because it "contained dangerous substances" -- an olive pit.

Well gosh, Mr. Kucinich... it helps if you learn how to eat olives! :O:

Better keep him away from cherries. And avacados - he could fracture his whole jaw on one of those pits. :haha:

I'm not sure I'd trust him with anything past tapioca at this rate.

I love Kucinich, but this is just.....bizarre. Why file a lawsuit on this after 2 and a half years have passed?

I didn't mean the thread as a political attack, but rather as a 'what the hell' regarding a $150,000 lawsuit over an olive pit.

I think there should be a 3 day waiting period on the purchase of olive pits.

Silly lawsuit IMO.

I say we ban olives altogether. Pitted or non-pitted, olives are a threat to our cherished, toothy way of life. :yep:

What gets me is that he is 64 and his wife is 33. He must have something.

Poor fellow, his insurance didn't cover it--and they have better plans than most of us.

I am sure there is something in the healthcare bill about olive pits somewhere. Too bad congress isn't included in it.
