EDIT 2: That scale is kind of counter-intuitive isn't it? When you look at doppler, the heavier rates of precipitation are always darker in shade, not lighter.

From my numerous tests on heavy metal (played through a fender amp by myself) and chickens, I do not see any change in their behavioral traits (other than the "wtf?!" look they give when you do anything but blend in to the background)

as for candy...I wasn't going to kill one of our hens. they are supposed to feed us all winter.
