Yes, its shore duty. I will work as a program manager - meaning I will work with the primemovers for the IT systems.

That means I will work with the IT systems you use, to get services from Maersk Line :D

I used to work in Maersk Data, before IBM purchased that company. Maersk Data developed most of the IT systems.

Its good to be back

Iv heard the officers training in Maersk should be very hard, but also one of the best educations in that field

Good luck with your new job :yeah:

I work for Bring IT dept in the UK and my boss is the programmer for us with our own in-house software (a rather smaller shipping/logistics company).

Myself - the last programming I did was:

10 PRINT "Herr-Berbunch is the greatest Kaluen"
20 GOTO 10

Congrats, sounds like you made a good deal!

You could program a Stuxnet-like virus, let yourself be captured, then infect the pirates' computer systems and thereby destroy their IT-infrastructure -...oh wait...:hmmm:

Well...I will not work as a programmer, but as a Program Manager.
A program is a number of projects with project managers. I will sit on top of that. I have done that in IBM for more than a year now - its fun
