Hi all, I´m absolutely new to sub or naval simulation. Hundreds of hours I´ve spent with strategy games, though: the TOTAL WAR series, Civilization, Order of War,... I used to see the Silent Hunter games at the shop and not feel very interested about them, although I knew I should give them a try at some moment. I did finally last week, with the wonderful SH4.
Very fast I´ve become absolutely addicted to it. It´s a whole new experience, something I was missing in games lately. Now I´ve recalled how much I enjoyed the movies about submarines that I watched when I was a kid. And now at last I´m starting to understand all that chatter about knots, bearings, interception points and that. This game is so good to learn!
On the other hand, I´m very impressed with the quality of the postings in this forum. No absurd and nasty dissagreements, as I´ve seen in other forums.
And I´m using mods for the first time! Thank you for helping me discover this great jsgme tool for managing them. It prevents my apprehension against modifying the files in my games!
Ok, too much for a first post, I think. Thank you for all the valuable hints and tips I´ve already found here.
Hugs from Madrid
