On Saturday my ISP seemed to be having some kind of problem from abut 10.30AM Saturday to Sunday I couldn't get to the internet and if could it would be really slow. My 7 reported being unable to connect to the DNS server even if I switched DNS server.

Today most of the problem whatever it was seems to be taken care of. Youtube streaming is back smooth but still I'm unable to access yahoo.

I could get to yahoo through proxy though and it's my fear that my ISP may have switched DNS server to that of a government running proxy server like that in UAE(if I'm not mistaken). The point being to filter out internet content :shifty:. Sure they have been blocking out porn sites since months ago but I'm worried that they may start using proxy to filter out internet content.

I'm hoping they just crashed their DNS server.

You can do a Whois and get the IP address which bypasses DNS issues.
If you still can not get there with the IP address?
Then IP filtering is being used.

I do not know the IP address of yahoo.

I called the ISP they told me the net info was having problem. I concluded the DNS server for the whole country is having problem as they also told me that other ISPs are having the same problem.

I just hope it's not about the government putting up some filtering machine. :hmmm:

I'll try to use the ip directly next time.

From yahoo answers:

69.147.76.15

http://69.147.76.15 (http://69.147.76.15/)

How-To:

Start command prompt, type in following:

tracert www.yahoo.com (http://www.yahoo.com/)

The final line of the script is the IP Address of the website.

Hate Yahoo. Never ever go there. :O:

Not my business, really. I just wanted to get back at all the Facebook-haters. :D
