I'm having trouble with this mission
I've finished all others in this group, and completed half of the mission.
The half i don't get is that your suppose to stop any incoming battleships.
I have waited for 10 days at almost every grid around norway, and sunk more escort's than i can count, but i still have not run into a single battleship.
Has anyone beat this that could give me some pointers?
Thanks much
I'm getting desperate to get to the next campaign

I recently played this mission and I came across a BB, I being a conservative skipper have never taken on a BB or CV ever, but it was getting dark soon and the water was deep so I decide to press my luck. This is my story.
"I sailed ahead of her and her seven escorts and got into position. They spotted my periscope and headed straight for me. I felt this was a mistake and I screw up. I had her in sight and was running my calculations over and over, the DDs were almost on top of me I couldn't wait much longer to fire at the BB who was still 3000m away. I fired three eels at her and crash dived for my life. Then less than 80m deep the DD dropped its revenge over me and i was nearly crippled, I went deep as i could then I heard a wonderful sound; torpedo hit, not once but twice. I hit her twice from from a basic hip shot, I was overwhelmed with joy. Not able to see, I thought a DD had got in the way, "that unlucky Tommy really screwed up" I said to myself. To my surprise, I got word that it was not the DD but the grand old lady of her majesty navy. The bulkheads imploding were beautiful notes over the sonar speakers. But we had a problem at 168m and flooding and the batteries, motors and pumps screwed up I knew I was in a fight to save my boat and crew, and I wouldn't be given up lightly. The ship was in panic and the crew raced to pump the water out and to fix the systems still high on there achievement. We must have gotten depth charged over 200 times and the pings off the haul gave me nightmares. I got quite and moved slow turning and dodging the onslaught . After 10 hrs they gave up I waited, then surfaced at daylight the fresh air was sweat to my noise my eyes burned form the oil I just wiped into my eyes, I was alive."

This is my account on high realism and why i love this game. A BB is a big accomplishment, mine was luck not skill, I put my crew at risk, never again. Its an experience in gaming you will cherish when the odds are stacked against you and you narrowly survive. Let that event come to you never go looking for trouble, you'll live longer, which Is the point of this game to me.

I am in this same mission, already took the recon photo, sank the 5 British ships and now looking for the battleship, Its march 28th, 1940 and my thinking is to head to the choke point in the inlet that all boats will have to pass through to get to Narvik.
If they scripted the game accurately, the battleship has to come through here.
I was in Narvik and headed out to sea, and right behind me are two German battlewagons and a few DD's then they all stopped at the mouth of Narvik, me thinks they are ready for something!
Any ideas as to location of this Battleship would be appreciated.

It was close to deadline when I spotted the BB on its way to Narvik. Waited at the end of the red arrow (which shows up near the deadline of the mission). Submerge and take some hydrophone readings at regular intervals. :ping:

Hi guys,
If you are looking in campaign.cfg you will see from what port to what port (start point end end point) the battleship is travveling (usually, it is soupose to have his route near assigned patrol area).
Bye!

Oh my god... I am so happy to finally be done with this mission. Found a fleet rolin' out of narvik on march 14 with one battleship which apparently is all that is needed to complete the mission.
big sigh of relief

Are you running Open Horizons?
Because if you are not, I recommend the R.E.M mod my Xundrel and Thebeast, this allows your hydrophone to hear the realistic distance, then submerge to about 40-50 meters deep then stay there near the Narvik Delta wait and see.
A battleship is bound to come, unless in the stock campaign you have sunk all the battleships, I did that once, I sunk all the capital ships and when I got to Mare Norstrum I had not battleships to sink, ending the game before the end of the third mission.
