Mod download question

why are all the mods for this game not downloadable via the site.
I'm seeing all these posts that are listing mods that you can't actually find to download. A lot of them are at filefront but you can't search for them cause the names are different

A lot of the reason is that many of these mods are works in progress. There are things that the mod makers are working on to iron out bugs. Most of what you see in the Downloads Section are completed works. You can find links to the modder's individual works in most of their signatures.

It's up to the Modders themselves where they put their mods. If they don't want to put them in our downloads section I usually wait until the mod is completely finished, and I always ask permission before putting them up myself. Non-modders have gone ahead and put up someone else's mods here. This is usually not a problem, but sometimes a modder doesn't want his stuff here, and that can cause trouble.

If a mod you want isn't here you can PM the one who made it and ask him to put it up, or ask him to give me permission to put it up. Until then, if the modder himself hasn't given us permission or done it himself, we try to wait until we're sure it's okay.
