As some of you may know on christmas i installed my new GTS 450. Well, the CD that came with it is proving to be incooperative.

For example: The Hardware Info MAY say DirectX11, however my computer says otherwise. It says its currently running DX10, and in one specific game (HawX2) the DirectX11 feature (tessellation) is unavailable.

How do i update to DX11?

Got Vista I guess?

Also, update to latest driver. The ones on the disc tend to be outdated before you even install them.

Isn't it only Windows 7 that can run DX11?

That's the limit of having Windows XP for me, my gfx card is Directx10 able, yeah directx 10! oh wait I'm running xp :damn:

Noob question but Windows 7 can run DX10 or 11 right? I know Vista works with Dx10. But I prefer 7 over vista.

Vista SP2 can be upgraded to DX11, and it's fully backwards compatible. :yep:

:yeah: Windows 7 with DX 11 it is then. Going to wait for when 7 Ultimate edition is no longer $400+ bucks. I missed out on Windows 7 Ultimate upgrade edition going cheap, forgot to check my bidding when I got home and found someone got it for $128. :damn:

9800GT, good choice. :DL

No you are not, the 9000 series does not support DX11. Win 7 does however.

Btw, you dont happen to play Call of Duty Modern Warfare 1? I know its a massive longshot that it was you, but i faced an Arclight in a MP match.

Well I played with my brother a while, but just 1v1. Was kinda nice; stealth had a point. Even had some tactics going onAlso hosted a few games for his clan. But beyond that I haven't played it, let alone taken it online.

Picked up another Ultimate upgrade license for $15 and MS Office 2010 Professional for another $15 the other day. Gotta love University licensing agreements!

Update: It wont work.

It "searches for updates" for a couple seconds then a message box pops up and says

"The update does not apply to your system"
It happened the same way with the Disc installation. How do i get my damned DX11?

Could you run Dxdiag and see what's listed under OS and DirectX version?
