I have seen boardgamers, most notably Wargamers, with their game maps et.al. under glass or mounted on rigid surfaces.
I would like to have the playing surface of Silent War, and of Steel Wolves for that matter, mounted on some light weight yet rigid surface. Poster Shops will only offer to frame it behind glass. Not what I have in mind.
Is there such a service as Giant Laminating? Poster Dry Freezing?
I am restricted in the area to spread this product out, short of putting it on the floor; being handicapped douses that option. At least having the map rigid would allow me to set it up on the bed.
A computer reproduction of the playing pieces exists, but looking at the PC monitor too much is, well, too much. Craft people and crafty people, perhaps you could recommend specialists who deal in such things.
