Was it not the writer of the American Narional Anthem who died chocking on pits of fruit? Maybe they try to take counter measures...:har:

A small child could choke on the toy inside, but there was a measure developed to prevent that from happening, a little thing called: A PARENT

In the european edition there is always a slip included which states in about 937 languages: "not suitable for minors under 3 because they might swallow the small parts."
So I guess here we think that 3yr olds are mature enough to handle them.

Da wiehert der Amtsschimmel...
I want to know where the US government is keeping it's secret stash of 25,000 Kinder eggs.:hmmm: I suspect they may be trying to cause a global shortage to drive the price up or something. I smell a conspiracy! Where's me tinfoil hat?

They're banned here because the egg man freak in this commercial is nightmare fuel. I can imagine some Washington-type seeing this, his eyes widen, he shakes his jowls and says "N-n-no! We can't have *that!*" : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eOFRIWx5F9c&feature=player_embedded

Silly,
In the U.S. it is boasted we have freedoms and 'rights' unlike any other country in the world. Yet for some odd reason as a country have more laws on the books than any other country in the world. Why is this one might ask? We've been trained well, if there is even a hint or a perception something is wrong. The people immediately demand the government of the people for the people fix it. We invite this into every aspect of our lives every time then get pissed off when elected officials do what is demanded of them! Go figure.
Just an observation nothing more.

Funny; my wife's friend in Germany sends the kids Kinder Eggs all the time, and they get here to the People's Republic of Maryland just fine.

Keep it up and the people will demand the government stop this! Why? Well if they can't stop Kinder eggs from entering just think whats getting through that we don't know of, oh the horror.
New political platforms and taxes will have to increase to support a new agency established to stop this blatant lawlessness before it gets out of control. Growler and Penguin you two just made the international most wanted list. Prepare to be brought to justice, this is an obvious sign you have know idea whats good for you. We the people have spoken, just don't mention the Kinder Eggs you sent me yesterday and I might be able to put in a good word for you to reduce your sentence.

I don't think you're so special in this regard. In Italy we have something like more than 50 000 laws (where France has someting like 5 000 laws). We have laws for everything, even laws that contradict one another. Can you believe it ? :damn: We have so many damn laws, that in the end most of them are simply not enforced. Until the time you want to use them to shut your political opponent that is. But even then, we haven't had the guts to ban Kinder eggs. :rotfl2:

You know, not too long ago it was said the U.S. was about ten years behind the euros in politics and government administration.
We have finally taken the lead! :D And thats makes special and better than you ;)

Bird learned U.S. authorities have banned the candy because they come with a plastic toy inside that could, if eaten, choke a small child.
Well, that explains it. Our society has this odd, cultural fetish with children. Anything that puts a dent in child safety, self esteem, or might somehow shatter their virgin ears is stringently frowned upon.
Here's a pretty good summary about it. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h6wOt2iXdc4) (NSFW language)
So no, i'm not surprised about Kinder Eggs. (frankly, i never heard of them before).
Since were on the subject of laws, time to bring this site up. :O:

http://www.dumblaws.comHmm, I checked out that site and this is all I found out about the Netherlands:
It is legal to smoke pot, buy it, or have less than 5 grams with you.
Prostitution is legal but the prostitutes must pay taxes like any other business.First of all, the first citation is wrong, it's actually technically still illegal though it simply isn't enforced.
Second, what the heck, what's so dumb about these laws?
So I wouldn't say this is a really trustworthy source;)
