Ohhhh, the agony, I will have to learn to make real friends again, in a real world, my god, I might even get a girlfriend... the horror
“I don’t care about the money,” said Zuckerberg. “I just want my old life back.”
Isnt that the guy who invented facebook because he had no life :)
Hoax... unfortunately.

The other ''credible'' articles on the page tipped me off. And the fact that Zuckerberg doesnt look like a person that would let go such a goldmine, not to mention an ego booster...
I allready gave the scare of my life to some of my more fanatical ''friends'' :D mvahahaha
I am but a wind, that spreads the fire

How can this be an hoax when weeklyworldnews says they are "the world's only reliable news"? It's written there, black on white!

Weekly World News has always had the highest level of journalism integrity and triple checking their sources for every story. Had it been around at the time there is no doubt that Woodwar and Bernstein would have published their infamous Watergate article in that prestigous paper :har:

What a joke, people don't shut down 50 billion dollar businesses, they sell them. The owner has already said it's false on his own FB page and lawyers looking to sue.

Zuckerberg said that the decision to shut down Facebook was difficult, but that he does not think people will be upset.
“I personally don’t think it’s a big deal,” he said in a private phone interview. “And to be honest, I think it’s for the better. Without Facebook, people will have to go outside and make real friends. That’s always a good thing.”
Some Facebook users were furious upon hearing the shocking news.
“What am I going to do without Facebook?” said Denise Bradshaw, a high school student from Indiana. “My life revolves around it. I’m on Facebook at least 10 hours a day. Now what am I going to do with all that free time?”
Almost sounds like something the Onion would write

If she's red, I'm free and offline :DL
Too bad this isnt true, If I could manage to publish a book: Offline and alive or how to regain your people skills in real life after the facebook shutdown, I'd make a killing

Maybe even better than The Onion (on the same page, Glen Beck moves to China).
My favorite Weekly World News story was that Adolf Hitler had escaped to Mars in a stolen B-24 - complete with photo said aircraft on Mars... Next weeks front page headline was that Hitlers B-24 had disappeared without a trace from Mars.
Love the WWN!

I'm really sorry for all you folks who are forced to look at it every day. It must be hard.

actually, for me, it's not that hard to see it on my monitor. BUT it's REALLY hard to see those FB faces in the real life.

While I like FaceBook for reasons I've stated many times, I usually have to remind myself to go there and see if anybody has contacted me. I don't even have it bookmarked.
Subsim, on the other hand...

I only have one homepage, and Subsim isn't it. It is, however, the first place I come to after checking the news, weather and emails.

Google is my homepage, but SubSim is my first bookmark link, and where I spend virtually all of my time online.

Plus your on dial-up as I am ... limits have been applied to my wandering due to rural phone connection.
All my old friends are on facebook they keep showing up in e-mails as such and such has just invited you to be a friend over on facebook.
No more cards, no more letters, no more phone calls, just look us up on facebook if you want to know what your old friends are up to.
By the way I'm Tex Armstrong over at facebook aka geetrue, but I'm not a fan of this place for lonely people.
I would rather lurk here than be a star over there that's my two cents and I still have 98 cents left :yep:

I'm probably the last one left on dial up ...
Dial up is like sound powered phones in the Navy vs cell phones today. Still gets there, but one is faster.
