Do we now get credit for making harbor raids??It would be a real shame to spot some nice fat tankers in port and go thru all of the trouble of ventilating them and not get a kill..:-?

If you sink it, you get credit.

However, there seems to be a problem with harbors not being deep enough for the ship to be "sunk", even if it's sitting on the bottom. I've never run into it, but I recall reading about it.

Watch out for mines and shore battery's.
The shore guns have lookouts with very sharp eyes and they'll see your periscope quickly :)

Harbor raids are worth doing if you some good tonnage but its always a risk mainly because you have to go into shallow water where in daylight your sub can be visible to planes. The best time to attack is at night but always beware of ASW ships, DDs and the like, so go to slient running and always keep two to four torps in reserve in the tube in cause you have to defend against the ASW ships.

Also dont forget to be aware of nearby airbases.

Recent patrol in Truk lineing up a final torpedo at a nice merchant and ended up with 92% damage from a jap floatplane only just made it back to Pearl
