Earlier, the tanker's crew had locked themselves into a stronghold from where they could maintain control of the ship.
The crew also remained in satellite communications with the outside world after the pirates boarded.
That bit doesn't suprise me, I only hope all ships in the area have such a contingency plan.
I'd be surprised if all ships that operate in that area aren't converted so they can be secured in this way.

Aye...wouldn't suprise me if it was now a requirement by the insurers.
