This years team is awesome; 16 different players have scored in this tournament this year. Highest scoring defenceman in the history of the tournament and soon to be the offenceman with the highest number of points scored in the history of the tournament. Dam

2-0 going into the 2nd.

Da..

Couple good players, but they're not meshing together as much as the Canadians

Canada baby

Crosby helped deliver gold in Vancouver, plus he is from Atlantic Canada, so he is ok in my book :yep:

Blind luck, but he seems to be the future of Canada Hockey internationally

You have to be good to be lucky.

Pressure wise you can't find many players in the NHL that can deliver in the clutch like him. Yes he does get whiny at times, but so did Gretzky. I think it has more to do with being competitive and wanting to win than anything else.

True, he has gotten a lot better than his starting years in the NHL, both with whining and playing tactically and in clutch positions.

Goddamit.. Canada's slipping up.

3-2 for Canada

Canada ! :D

But really, this is a thread about the finals.. not NHL.

Canada's starting to fumble and rush too much. They need to slow down and take their time.

We put maple syrup on their skates. :O:

Russias picking up, playing very well now. Canada can hopefully rally and bring in the win.

5-3 Russia.

I don't think that today is Canada's day.

:nope:

Good game played by Russia. Good comeback and well played.

Canada, nothing to be said. Blowing a 3-0 lead going into the 3rd isn't something any team should do, much less our national team. Back to the drawing boards.

Congratulations 2011 Junior Russia Team!

Always hard watching a game between 'my' two countries. I can't tell you which one I generally support more, but I can tell you that Canada was the more consistent team (at least until the third period) today and I was ready to get behind them all the way... just that Russia was inconsistent in a shockingly good way today. Great example of not giving up no matter what, gotta hand it to the guys. Amazing comeback and an undisputed win.

**** sakes ....

Hats off to the Russians :yep:

Kudos to both teams for great tournaments. Russia really stepped up and I'm impressed by a lot of their players heart.. now I gotta find a good online channel that plays the KHL..

On a side note.. CCIP.. your TWO? Countries? If you wouldn't mind me asking, are you originally from Russia? Or are you ethnically split between Canada and Russia.

I was born and raised in Russia, but I live and work in Canada and currently hold only Canadian citizenship (mostly due to political circumstances and mandatory conscription, to both of which my family objected and had no choice but to leave). So it's very difficult for me to choose a side - culturally I still identify more with Russia, something you can't help when you grow up in a certain place, but I can't help but be grateful for opportunities and good people I've met here here either. So when it comes to things like sports, it can be hard to pick who to cheer for. But I definitely feel for athletes on both sides :yep:

Heartbroken as a Canadian, but I agree with many of the posters, Russia should be proud of her sons tonight, what a stunning comeback. Their spirit and determination were awe-inspiring.

My wife is trying to break my 4-year old of the same habit (which he picked up from me!).

Very good example of how welcoming Canada is to immigrants and visitors of any culture. As for myself, it is one of my dreams to visit Russia and her sights, St Petersburgh, Moscow, Kazan, etc.

Cheers,
