The anti-US Shia cleric Moqtada Sadr has returned to Iraq, officials have said.
After spending nearly four years in self-imposed exile in Iran, he returned to his home city and former stronghold, Najaf, on Wednesday.
The visit comes as the US prepares to withdraw the 50,000 service personnel still in the country by the end of the year.
Didn't I say it means nothing that he ordered his militia to stay put and just wait, and he would come back with stronger Iranian support and stronger cleric authority after his studies, when the US leaves Iraq?
