JSGME access

I made a completely new install of SH5
Then I installed JSGME
And now, when launching JSGME (to create the MODS folder) it doesn't open up, it just tells me that it can access the unit/file and that I maybe haven't got the right authority

Anyone out there who knows something about this?

All help most appreciated.

This happens when installing SH3-4-5 in the program folders in Vista and Windows7.

As Irish said, it sounds like an administrative rights problem. Instead of double clicking JSGME to start it, right click it and select 'run as administrator' from the menu.

Ideally though, If you are able to, uninstall SH5 and reinstall on a different drive/partition than windows.

I have Win7 64 bit and found that creating a folder called Games off the root and then installing all games to that folder causes no problems at all.

@ TDW snap! yeah installing to a games directory outside of the windows/program files directories should be fine also as the administrative rights only apply to these.

i have NEVER had this problem with windows7 and i install a lot of games and other stuff as they are set up to install without redirecting download locations or directories and never have administrator authorization issues

AFAIK its just a vista issue

Firstly - The bad guy was a corrupt JSGME.exe file.... :oops:
After downloading a new one it runs like a charm.

Your idea of a Games folder off the root is tempting, I think I'll give it a try.
