View Full Version : Missing graphics/textures inside sub when pressing shift + pg up
howdy,
Vista 64
8800 Nvidia
4 gb ram
Am using only grew wolves expansion 3.0. When I press shift+ page up (for AA/bloom) the interiors of the of the radio room/sonar/ commander go black; there are missing textures and graphics. When I press shift + page down everything goes back to normal.
Went googling to find if someone had a similar issue and found this thread:

Can anyone tell me what is causing this?

Welcome to subsim!! :)
As for your problem, when I read through that other thread, Shift+Pg Up seems to turn anti aliasing on, and shift+pg down seems to turn it off. According to him that was the problem, so Im guessing you cant turn it on inside of the boat, thats all?? ANy other opinions on this guys??
According to him that was the problem, so Im guessing you cant turn it on inside of the boat, thats all??No. I can turn AA on but the moment I press shift + pg up to do so the textures go black inside the sub. I press shift + pg down to turn it off and the textures come back.
Well, I think I found what the problem is.
I loaded about 8 different games with boats either pre-fitted with the Fumo Radar (29-30) and wwithout one. I forgot to mention in my post that when the glitch occurs (missing textures) a Fumo Radar screen is shown on the lower left corner. So theres some graphics bug tied to installing a radar on a u boat and the game's antialiasing.
i know this for certain because I loaded a type viic uboat from 1941 without the radar installed and a viic boat from late 1943 or 1944 with one.
Guess I'll have to live without AA for now. If I enable AA from the Nvidia control panel I'm hit with the white specks on the horizon bug. The ingame AA doesn't have this when I enable it.
Thank you for trying to help anyway. I'll see if changing Nvidia drivers might solve the issue.
P.S Can anyone tell a way to preconfigure SH3's own AA from a file before loading a game? I'm just curious to see if this might work.

What Video Card do you have?
Hello,
I am using an Nvidia 8800 gts 512 mb for my laptop.
Well, everything's ok now. I downloaded Nvidia Nhancer utility while researching this other 'white specks/artifacts on the horizon bug' and now I'm able to use anti aliasing without a problem. The ingame AA bugs out on me but Nhancer doesnt. :)
I can just ignore this missing textures and graphics w/ shift + page up.
