Hi all

I've completed the tutorial and now captain of my own ship, I received my orders to partol area East coast of Britain near the Grimsby port. I sailed over there and partolled around but couldn't find any ships, then thought I would check out the port, sailed over to the port and sunk 5 ships and gained a 52k tonnage - more than enough for the mission, but my mission hasn't completed? Heck I'm out of torps and gun ammo, so sailed back east to resupply.

I don't understand why the mission has completed? I've got the tonnage - was it because the grimsby port isn't in the same square as the mission icon?

Do I have sail in and around the icon and sink ships there - what distance can I be from the icon for it to count?

Thanks for any help/advice.

Not sure if you mean the patrol mission or the sink 50k tons campaign objective.

The patrol mission is to sink a ship around that yellow marker, I don't know the exact range, 200km is too far out, less than 100km seems to work fine (i sank one at around 95km and it worked). Just patrol around it, if nothing has shown for 3 days it will give you a new location.

As for the 50k campaign objective any merchant ships should work, but it may not count ships in port, some of the later missions definately do not count ships in port towards the objective. The area on the east coast is quite wide, there is a lot of shipping between the thames and dunkirk, I sank most of the tonnage around there. As for running out of ammo and needing to resupply don't worry, you have until June to complete that objective, heading back several times to resupply is normal.

Hi

Thanks for the advice - it's the patrol mission around the yellow marker. After resupplying and heading back to the east coast I got a report for a new location a little further north near tyne. Heading there, this time I'll stay out at sea and leave the ports alone :0

I found that the British Coastal Waters was the easy mission. I sank a whole convoy of 9 ships after sinking the 2 Warships with them. But I had to end up using the deckgun to do it.

The British Supply Route is tougher. I've had to go back to Kiel twice to resupply. This last time I noticed my base has changed to Wilhelmshaven. Is that supposed to happen? Plus the run thru the Channel is getting tougher too.

I think the change of base is meant to happen, it makes sense to move the main submarine base to the other side of denmark after the invasion of poland. (You can "refit" at any friendly port by the way, not just the one marked with the submarine, I often use the one on an island north of germany.

I was finding the Supply Route tough too until I wandered into a undefended convoy of 9 ships, sank 8 before I ran out of ammo. That gave most of the 100k. The channel can be tough to get through, I tend to go slowly while submerged, stay underwater the whole way, batters should last if you stick to slower speeds.

I skip the tutorial, because if i don't skip it the campaign will not show in the map.I requested the British Coastal Waters campaign.I went to patrol area.I sink a merchant near it and the objective completed.I received a message(patrol another area or return to base).I returned to base and request the same mission.I sank more than 50,000 tons of merchant.
but the mission will not complete.
How can i finish the missions???
please Help me!!!

You need to patrol in the area of the yellow icon for a certain amount of time, and eventually you will get the message 'primary objective completed.' It is quite normal for the marker to be shifted at some point - just move to the new one and patrol until you get the message.
With regard to sinking the required number of ships, make sure they are all sunk within the marked area. Don't worry about running out of torpedos; just nip over to Heligoland (closest) and choose 'refit'.

Ok , if you skipped the tutorial i bet you didnt get a loading screen . In other words you went straight to the sub . Go back to the in base save and start again it looks like . Make sure you have sub upgrades in that panel . If this isnt the problem then i dont know sorry .

What do you mean "no mission will show on the map"? When? In the tutorial or after it?

Captain Farid

After the tutorial, when i dock at Kiel.
I talked to commander to request a mission.no mission will show on the map.
(Invasion Of Poland)it's deadline is 4 September, before reaching to Kiel,Invasion Of Poland will crash.

Farid, I told you once that you cannot complete missions/play the campaign without a legit version of the game. Same goes for everyone wondering why the white bar is not filling up when sinking stuff in the mission area.

Download SH5 of steam, you get steam in Iran right? It will cost you a few dollars but if you can't buy it in Iran steam is your choice or maybe Ebay. :salute:
