Right, so I got rid of my 2nd monitor, did all the necessary precautions before un-plugging it etc. but some apps' windows are still off screen.

For example, Modo's material, rename and generally every pop-up window is placed off screen.

Any ideas how to fix this? :hmmm:

Get a second monitor. :O:

Not a clue to be honest. Guess all you can do is make sure Windows and Nvidia panel are set to single monitor.

I've had this happen, it's a pain in the arse. Try starting Windows in safe mode and then reposition the offending windows.

Edit: Actually before you do that go into your graphics card control panel and make sure it doesn't "think" that you still have a second monitor active (if it does, disable it there).
Edit2: Like Arclight said.

The phrasing is usualy subtile, on the graphics card properties/windows resloution make sure to uncheck the "expand my desktop" option.

iirc one of the older versions of the nvidia control panel gave you the option to move programs and dialogue boxes and set default monitor locations. Not much use if you don't have invidia gfx though :-?

read through some of the comments too, there's talk of apps that force windows to move boxes to the current live monitor.
