Anyone here stay up to see it about 40-50 minutes ago? I got this great picture of it. From Newfoundland, Canada, was worth it, apparently this eclipse is special because it occurs on the Winter Solstice, and will not occur again in most peoples lifetimes, in any case it was pretty nice looking.
P.S: Have not been on Subsim for a year or so, good to be back.

I watched it. Perfect clear full moon. I looked at my time piece and it was 0150 hrs Central when it went what I considered total. Viewing from the Panhandle of Florida.
Nice pic. None of my cameras would take a decent picture. It was 44 degrees and I didn't see another soul in my neighborhood out watching the show.

I wish I could have seen it, but the cloud cover is too thick here - not so much as a sucker hole to peek through.
That is a nice pic. Thank you for sharing. :salute:
Waiting for moonrise in about 20 mins over here. Unfortunately we'l only get to see the tail end of it. nice shot Pack. BTW it's the summer solstice not the winter one. ;)
EDIT: Bugger we had some cloud low on the horizon tonight so only caught the tail of the tail end. Still the earths shadow was clear and I managed a couple of poor shots:

I saw it almost full eclipse on my way to work, shame it was very hazy. But glad I can say I have seen it.
Given the last was 400 years ago at this time of year I doubt we will ever see another one.
I, think you are right....

LOL, GR.
It was cool, that's for sure. Not enough to convert me to anything, except maybe a reconversion back to my night-owl youth.

Total lunar eclispes happen once every 3-4 years. It is a total eclipse that occurred on the solstice that only happens every 400 years or so.

I'm glad I'm working mornings on the railways, as the full moon brings all the nutters out to play and 10x worse in silly season!
