Hiya all!

I'm new here, but I'd like to get involved!

Inspired by something brought over from Simcity 4 (another game I play often) I wanted to publish like journals of war patrols, and the achievements, in sort of a dramatised or fictional way.... is this something that is done or has been done here or on other forums?

The ones I'm talking about are published on my own personal forum (mostly simcity 4 based) here...

Example 1 - Captain Troy Heller (http://www.csgdesign.com.au/CSGf/viewtopic.php?f=146&t=1262)
Example 2 - Captain Paul Vandersen (http://www.csgdesign.com.au/CSGf/viewtopic.php?f=146&t=1225)
Example 3 - USS Snapper by Shilka (http://www.csgdesign.com.au/CSGf/viewtopic.php?f=146&t=1228)

I'd love to see other examples... does anyone know of any I could read? Thx!

Sweet thanks!
I'll have a peek at the SH3 and SH5 journals.
I wanted to buy SH5 but it requires a permanent internet connection, which in Australia in general (and me specifically) is simply not possible.

I have mobile broadband and it's reception is so rubbish that sometimes it takes me several minutes to refresh a simple image-free forum page... I kid you not. :(

Such a shame because I luv SH4 and the improvement over SH2 is gob-smacking, so the improvement to SH5 must be pretty decent too...

I orignally couldn't do it because of bad connections, but I'm so angry over the whole concept that I'm one of the few who refuses to buy it until that 'thing' is gone.

As for improvements, read the threads here and the reviews. SH4 was an improvement over SH3, but some bugs weren't fixed and some new ones were invented. SH5 is an improvement in some areas, but some others are worse. Only time will tell if it's ever ironed out.

It must be tough having a crappy internet connection in this day and age but be that as it may, that is what SH5 requires.

The elderly gent (wait till he reads that LOL) has steadfastly refused to be dictated to regarding said requirement and I admire him for that as well as many other qualities....in fact, if I hadn't received my copy courtesy of an official source I suspect my attitude would replicate his (Steve).

Welcome aboard! :salute:

Think the Aussies are beginning to dominate here.

Haha thanks for the warm welcomes.
I didn't manage to find any of the journals here for SH3 or SH5, so I'll continue to post mine up in my own domain I guess, the most recent of which can be found here (http://www.csgdesign.com.au/CSGf/viewtopic.php?f=146&t=1262).

I would very much like to read what other's have written though... can I trouble someone for a link if it's not too much inconvenience? I'm looking for inspiration. :)

BTW: what do you think of mine? I'm a total new guy at the game and know very little about the actual wartime period but I'm learning and I'm not too proud to hear criticism if it's meant well :) Thanks!

Here's a couple of random pics to give you a sense of what it's like...

Hope you like... it's great fun to play. :)

Edit > How did you know I was an Aussie, Herr Berbunch? I didn't think my profile was public... ? :\
