View Full Version : Will Tuesday Be the Darkest Day in 456 Years?
Break out the flashlights. When a full lunar eclipse takes place on the shortest day of the year, the planet may just get awfully dark. The upcoming Dec. 21 full moon -- besides distinguishing itself from the others in 2010 by undergoing a total eclipse -- will also take place on the same date as the solstice (the winter solstice if you live north of the equator, and the summer solstice if you live to the south).

WE should run a competition as to who can find the most religious nutcases on the internets claiming that this is a sign of the end times.

Everybody has got their religion.
Some worship money, some worship person, some worship themselves and some others worship God and some others worship their religion, some worship a position, etc.
Heck if one talks about beliefs one must include tradition, fairy tale and folklore , political ideology, patriotism, human rights, the constitution and atheism and many others.

Will this be the darkest?
456 years ago there weren't all the city lights like there are now to drown out the night skies. My guess is, depending upon where you live you might not even notice it.

And I think I read, the next time it gets to a similar extent, is the year 2094.
