SOB!
That's not a comment on Mr. Edwards, but a reference to one of my favorite films, of course directed by him.

My favorites have to be the first few Pink Panthers. "A Shot in the Dark" is the sequel to the first one IIRC and is probably my favorite.
Favorite line: Clouseau asking the naked male desk clerk at a nudist colony-"Have you been swimming?"
Desk clerk-"Why yes! How did you know?" :03:
Of course, all of the Pink Panther movies had some great lines.
Another of my all time favorite movies by Edwards is "The Party". It had Peter Sellers(sp?:hmmm:). He plays an Indian actor mistakenly invited to a producer's party. The first five minutes after he arrives at the party is without dialog but had me tears, I was laughing so hard. :haha::haha::haha: It really showcases the comedic brilliance of Edward's and Seller's.
I saw this gem on late night tv years and years ago.
One thing I didn't realize about Edward's until I heard about his death yesterday was that he helped write Orson Well's radio show "The War of the Worlds."
RIP :salute:

Has everyone forgotten his WWII submarine movie, Operation Petticoat?
"We sunk a truck!"
Fantastic films by a fantastic director, he will be missed, but he has left a glorious legacy.

Ayup. And the dancers wearing the clear plastic masks that make them look like Gene Kelly. Even through the mask the shocked look on the one guys face is priceless.
"Did you come to see my boobies?"

Oh yeah, I did forget he did that. Funny movie.
I never knew he had the dramatic side as well. I don't think I ever knew he did "Breakfast at Tiffany's" and "Days of Wine and Roses".

I am a musician and the monkey is a businessman. He doesn't tell me what to play, and I don't tell him what to do with his money.
