So I'm fed up with the widescreen issues after 4 yrs and am thinking about getting a standard 5:4 aspect monitor.

Anyone have any suggestions on which one should get, for around £100-£150 at most?

P.S. Must have a DVI input

Thank you.

So many monitors these days are 16:9 it's actually difficult to find a 'square' traditional monitor.

I gave up and switched to using cheap LCD TVs instead. I got an ex-display 32" HD telly from Ebuyer.com for £230 and use that via HDMI as my monitor. The immersion factor is brilliant as it pretty much fills your view sitting in front of it, and it has the added advantage of being a Freeview equipped TV as well should I need it. I also now have a 37" TV hooked up to my media centre PC in the main room. Large monitors are hideously expensive, and flatscreen TVs are cheap, plentiful and work perfectly well.

I looked at some TVs and on the advice of some members in the Computer Forum here I settled on a 28" Hanns G that I got for a great price. I was told the picture on a large-screen TV isn't as good with games.

As for the "widescreen problem", I tried the widescreen mods and decided I would rather have the stretched look. These days I don't even notice it.
