Well its that time of year again. Time for my bout with the winter influenza.
Its not pretty Nasty head cold with sinus infection, A dry cough that just wont go away, diahrea, vomiting, a light fever all in time for the coldest days so far this year.
I feel bad for the wife, she cooked for hours making lazagnia. I took one bite and had to run for the bathroom
This is the second (worst) day of it so far. I am off for a hot shower and some sack time.
Yall have fun now and try to stay healthy :salute:

I've had flu for 2 weeks and still have it a bit and with the coughing.
I pushed myself to watch Narnia last weekend still though.
Flu these days are hard to get rid off it seems. The damn weather is not helping either.

Come on, how bad can the weather be over there in Jakarta?
The weather in Canada is against us students. For the last too weeks it has been snowing enough to make you feel uncomfortable, but not enough to close the schools down.
Of course, compared to what Dowly is probably going through, its not that bad here in Canada.

Loperamide and Ondasteron FTW!!!
Loperamide is OTC right now, Immodium.
Ondansteron (zofran) is regretfully not. I give it to patients a couple times a day. Friggin love the stuff. I imagine it will be OTC in a couple years.
It was originally used for chemotherapy patients to help stop the nausea and vomiting. But because only one manufacturer owned the patent to it, the cost was something like $1500 per dose. A few years ago, the patent ran out. Now you can get a dose for about $0.12. We use it alot in the prehospital (EMS) setting for vomiting patients, saves a lot of cleaning up in the truck.

Well it's damp and rains almost daily and it's been raining since 2 months ago.
Almost everybody in the family had a flu yesterday when we held a mass for my passing grandmother's 40 days. So it's not just me.
But admittedly snow or blizzard is a lot lot harder than just tropical rains. :DL

Nah... I sank myself in April '45 trying infiltrate New York, with all acoustic eels.
Forgot who drew that, but they were poking fun at me and I loved it!

Still funny though :D
Never had a flu shot in my life, and never will. Was brought up the "George Carlin way" where as a kid used to go out to play, got dirty and developed a strong immune system the old fashioned way. I'll still catch a cold or the flu from time to time but only lasts a few days; not weeks like it is now with some people. People should rely on their own bodies to be their defense and not rely solely on medicine to do the job.

I got a flu shot this year, just cause I got for free from the hospital we have our med control from, and I happened to be there that day. It was a matter of convenience, more than desire.
I get exposed to so much stuff each day, my immune system is pretty good. I jokingly say I'm immune to HIV by now (really joking, never wanna find out :o). But the flu virus mutates each year, so it's fairly easy to pick up a new strain, so the more antibodies I can have, the happier I am.
But overall, I'm not a fan of the system, too many weird chemicals in the shot and such.

I dont bother with a flue shot. I just catch it each year and fight it off :haha:
This was nothing compred to the swine or whatever it was I had last year, that incapacatated me for nearly a week.
Anyhow feeling alot better now thanks for your wishes and spelling corrections.
About the doctor thing that was supposed to be funny
